It's a case of life imitating art — if you can call a reality TV series about making moonshine art.

Steven Ray Tickle, 35, a star of the TV show “Moonshiners” was arrested last week for being intoxicated at a convenience store in Virginia.

Tickle was holding an open container in the parking lot of Charley’s Stop and Shop and the investigators smelled alcohol while approaching his car, police said on Tuesday.

According to the police report, the cops were investigating a complaint that came from a citizen who approached an officer and told him there was a man drinking in public near the convenience store.

The actor was arrested as he was unable to make arrangements for someone to pick him up.  He was released from the Danville City jail the same day, according to police.

The show “Moonshiners” has aired on the Discovery Channel since 2011, and has caused some controversy for glamorizing people who make illegal alcohol.

The Discovery Channel didn't return calls for comment.
