Jimmy Fallon has embraced the Linsanity surrounding New York Knicks basketball sensation Jeremy Lin. And Thursday night he combined that with his uncanny knack for musical impersonations -- a Knick knack, if you must.
Fallon took to the "Late Night" stage made up as Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder for a convincing spoof on the 1991 hit "Jeremy." You know where this is going, right? Jeremy wasn't "at home, drawing pictures, of mountain tops, he was "at home, shooting free throws, and 3-point shots."
Fallon nails the Vedder-like vocals throughout the song and manages to work in references to Tim Tebow, Kim Kardashian and Spike Lee. A nod to Mookie Blaylock would have given the song the real NBA/grunge cred it needed, though.
"Jeremy spoke in class todaaaaayyyyy"? Nope. The line stuck in your head now will be "Jeremy Linnnnn-sannnn-i-tyyyyyyyy."
