After weeks of surprise eliminations, “Dancing” voters finally got the latest cut about right. (OK, so Bristol Palin survived yet again, but I’m done questioning her resiliency despite the bad performances – for now.) The unlucky dancer who’s just missing out on next week’s semifinals? Kurt Warner and his frying pan hands.
The former football player has been hanging out near the bottom of the leaderboard for weeks now, and though he’s shown some improvement and has received praise from the judges, his scores haven’t been trending upward as of late. Still, he’s outlasted better performers. (Audrina Patridge was eliminated way too soon, and it wasn’t quite Rick Fox’s time yet!)
But like the others who fell before he did, Warner could not survive longer than the worst of the contenders: Palin. Sure, he scored only one point higher than the “teen activist,” but he also received compliments from the judges for his waltz and cha-cha-cha. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba even declared that he “nailed everything.” (So why didn’t he score higher than 8s?!) As for Palin, she couldn’t keep time during her second dance and ended up delivering a sloppy samba complete with missed steps. (Yes, again. But are you really surprised?)
The teen mom has had an incredible run on the show, there’s no doubt about that. But if she outlasts the super entertaining Kyle Massey (who has undoubtedly improved week after week) or front-runners Brandy and Jennifer Grey to advance to the finals, it will definitely be time to change the voting process.
