The domestic violence investigation sparked by an episode of MTV’s “Teen Mom” is moving forward, as Radar Online reports police now want MTV to surrender footage of Amber Portwood repeatedly striking her former fiancé Gary Shirley.
“We are drafting and sending the subpoena to MTV to get the unedited version of their film,” Detective Mitch Carroll of the Anderson, Ind. Police Department said. “We want to compare that with what we already have — and hopefully it will put us closer to putting a point on this investigation."
According to Radar Online, the subpoena could be issued this week.
While the current investigation revolves around scenes of abuse filmed during the second season of “Teen Mom,” Portwood’s violent behavior toward Shirley can be seen in this clip from the show’s first season.
