"Dancing With the Stars" viewers aren't the only ones shocked to see Bristol Palin stay in the game despite plenty of flawed footwork and timing troubles. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 20-year-old shared her own disbelief.
"I'm shocked that we're still around, but I'm thankful for our fans out there that have voted us back each week," Palin said. "And, um, I'm just shocked that we're still around."
That shock may not last for long. Given her frequent back-of-the-pack standing in the ballroom competition, Tuesday's election night results show has the potential to be the last for Sarah Palin's daughter.
Not that pro partner Mark Ballas agrees with that sentiment.
"She's improving every week," Ballas insisted. "If you watch the first tape, to last week, it's pretty awesome. Y'know what I mean? Not a lot of the other couples in this competition you see that growth."
While Ballas has a point about Palin's improved performances between Week 1 and Week 6, he seems to have forgotten about all the dances in between — including the monkey-suit-jive. One good dance doesn't excuse the rest.
Of course, the only routine that will matter come Tuesday night is the one Palin performs on Monday night's 200th episode of "Dancing With the Stars."
Happy 200 'Dancing'!
