The premiere season of TLC’s “Sister Wives” ended in a wedding celebration Sunday night, as Kody Brown and fourth wife Robyn made it official while Brown’s other brides looked on.
Before the big event, jealousy and tears took center stage, as they often have during the show’s short run. Veteran wives Meri, Janelle and Christine were peeved about several of the pre-wedding preparations. For Janelle and Christine, whose respective nuptials lacked the fanfare Robyn expected, each grand gestured seemed to be a reminder of what they didn’t get on their big days. Even first wife Meri appeared annoyed when Kody and Robyn offered matching votes for their favorite wedding cake flavor. And when Kody admitted he helped Robyn pick out her bridal gown, no one was happy — not even Robyn.
After the new-couple portion of the family swapped their vows, an event that took place off-camera, everyone was all smiles for the reception, which Kody later referred to as their polygamist “coming out party.”
TLC has yet to announce plans for a second “Sister Wives” season.
