In a bit of television news that almost seems too good to be true, Deadline Hollywood recently reported (and Entertainment Weekly has since confirmed) that James “Blockbuster” Cameron plans to bring one of his box-office biggies to the small screen.
Now don’t get your hopes up for a weekly return to Pandora. The program on the way is a reworking of Cameron’s 1994 secret-agent hit “True Lies.”
Not much is known about the project at this point, although a casting reboot is basically a given. It’s hard to imagine the governor of California reprising his role or Jamie Lee Curtis giving up that sweet Activia gig. But who knows? Maybe Tom Arnold, who played the best-pal part perfectly in the original has a little wiggle room on his IMDb page.
